Day 2 31/12 2006

Today we have started to build the gas cooler and destroyed a oil tank that we are going to use the material from. The gas cooler consists of two horizontal 3” pipes with twelve 1” cooling pipes connecting them together. We will put a tank beneath the cooler to collect condensate water. We will also make a connection for the starting fan. Our hole saw was to week fore the 3” pipes, so we had to mill the holes. That was no problem for Martin, but he killed one drilling machine. Now we only have to weld the construction together.

The oil tank consists of 3 mm sheet metal. Vi crosscut the tank so we got the welded corners. That saved us a lot of time. We then sat down and discussed the construction and we came up with the idea to build the cyclone filter in to the fine filter. This will make the gases from the generator going in the cyclone heating up the fine filter.

Now we are going to take the evening of to celebrate New year’s eve!
